Proper replacement part
Little there is to say about it, this replacement part is serving me well.

Great controller for older consoles
Apparently built with the original schematic the original Sega version was made with. It's a great controller for the Mega Drive (Genesis in the US), but supposedly also works with other consoles with the 9 pin port (Atari 2600 for example). Great value too.

Great quality improvement over standard cables.
So the Mega Drive has both really bad video output (with AV), but it also has a really good and clear RGB output if you use Scart cables. The only issue with the first model was that you didn't get stereo sound out the back. The system is able to output stereo through the headphones port, and this cable is designed to utilize that. So this cable gets you both stereo sound and RGB output from your Mega Drive model 1.
