Under rated game. Destined to be a classic.
2 of 2 found this helpful I've heard underwhelming responses to this particular Final fantasy. However, this is among the better Final Fantasies in the series, especially in the post-sprite era. The characters are likable, atmosphere magical and expansive, and the adventure compelling. I will say the pacing in not nearly as quick or varied as in past Final Fantasy games such as 6 or 7 in the series, or even X. But, it's a calming fantasia of a game with a great nuanced battle system. Going off the beaten path to find secrets and hidden espers to defeat and have join your party, is time consuming and eventually rewarding. the end is epic, and the leveling up system invites multiple play throughs.
Don't allow the curse of Final Fantasy elitism keep you from playing this excellent game.
