great little thing
These have been around for donkey's years because they are just the best at what they do,
Solidly built, nice to look at and even better really good quality sound. Perfect for classrooms etc and indestructible.

Patience Rewarded.....
Looks fairly well made; the filling lid is a bit of a faff as it doesn't stay open, but it's ok to handle.
It does take a very long time to boil - 30-45 minutes. That's not the kettle's fault; if it took any more power the car connector would melt or pop a fuse, but don't invite all your mates round for an instant tea party as it only holds 0.8l. It comes to a gentle simmer rather than a steamy boil, but the auto-off feature is useful as you'll have probably wandered off while waiting for it to boil; also the power on light is handy as nothing really happens for the first 20 minutes anyway!
The lead does get slightly warm, but my only concern is that there's no fuse in the plug - although the kettle has a fuse inside, a fault could melt the cable although the car fuse "should" pop before then. I replaced mine with a fused 12v car plug just in case.
Overall a useful thing, just not very quick, but that's down to physics.
