one of a few choices with broom threads

For me it had to be metal. I used it to put a camera on the end of a metal telescoping pole (designed for roller brush). I ground off a few sharp corners to make it safer.

weak choice for tightening hex screw size

The pivot point tightening screws use a very small allen wrench. The torque needed will likely round off the little hex holes or the tool. Nearly every day I use a similar metal Z fold which has a LARGER allen wrench. It is better. That is what I thought I was getting with this second unit. I will still use this second one, but with a lighter load.
