A must have for any fan of Billy Wilder's excellent work.

I am a big fan of Billy Wilder's films and this book gives the background behind his work plus anecdotes about filming without being exceedingly technical or descending into gossip. A beautiful edition of the book, which has separate chapters for each film. A wonderful account of an expert film-maker, the author has allowed for Mr Wilder's voice to be heard without any heavy-handed editorial opinion. Can't ask anything more from a biographer! A less technically-detailed read than Cameron Crowe's Conversations with Wilder, but in depth enough to satisfy any reader.
