Garmin short comings
4 of 5 found this helpful I have only used my new Garmin 1350 once and was mostly disatisfied with it. I wanted a GPS that I could program my own route and thought this modle would allow that. I set my destination and started out on our short trip. I knew mostly the route I wanted to take and from the start the Garmin wanted to take me in the opposite direction. Arriving at Il.Rt.128 the Garmin called it a county road. We headed So. and the tried to get me to turn the wrong direction onto several country roads until we reached the interstate. From that point on it worked great. If I hadn't known where I was headed I don't know where the Garmin would have taken us. I emailed Garmin to find out if I needed to do somethin different and was told I should have bought a different modle to program my own route. I wish the advertising had been more explicit about this feature. When going some where I don't want to take country roads unless absolutely necessary.....
