Essential steam record
Bought the book on the strength of the later version by same author (1955) so completes an overall picture of the state of steam locos over what is considered the best years prior to introduction of the 'new strategy' of dieselisation.
It is also a valuable photographic reference when building loco models to produce an accurate model particularly where variations in a class occurs.

It does what it says.
The dictionary is being used to translate German instructions into English. It is hard going but it does expand my limited understanding of the German language. I could have used the internet but this way is more rewarding. The content is very comprehensive and as yet I cannot express a positive or negative review, I may yet go on to learn more of the language. Perhaps not very helpful but and honest appraisal.
