Very disappointing even for its price.
I often used striped down USB hubs in my projects that are built around a Raspberry Pi.
This hub does not use the standard FE1.1s chip with power control circuitry. It has an unknown potted chip and does not like higher current USB devices.
Splicing in external power into the hub I still could not get a Wifi dongle, USB audio and a game pad to work together.
This could also be a bandwidth issue and tracing out the board looks more suitable for USB 1.1 standard.
