sliders catch at the join

I have installed my curtain track and it seems good quality with a clever release mechanism. However, the sliders get caught up at the join in the track when closing. Left hand curtain has to run across the join against the edge of the outer telescopic sleeve. I have hung fairly light weight curtains. I wonder if there any way to resolve this problem?

Good binding rings

Only reason for 4 star not 5 is that several rings has sharp metal spurs which I had to file down and one ring was bent out of shape.
