It's the real deal. 100% cotton and strong. The colour is perhaps a tiny bit lighter than shown in the image, but that can be seen from the bobbin.

Waste of time and money

The idea of it is good, but the quality is terrible. Nothing holds in place and some joints actually cannot be fixed at all, so you have to trust your camera with something with constantly moving parts. Certain important sections are made of plastic instead of metal, and the whole thing looks like a cheap knock off of an equally cheap product. The follow focus is okay for the price, but since it can only be mounted on one part of the rig, it greatly reduces the overall possibilities. There is also no way of counterbalancing this rig - nowhere to fix any weights. Unless you are a very DIY savvy person, but is it really worth the trouble?
