Positive Review for The Empty Throne by Bernard Cornwell
This is book 8 of what is currently a 9 book series, with more to come. Although I imagine this book could be read as a stand alone, most people will read the series and come to this book after reading the previous 7.
And if your on book 8 after reading the first 7 than obviously you enjoy Cornwell as an author, so I will not dwell on my opinion of his penmanship other to say that I have become a fan of Mr. Cornwell and I thoroughly enjoy this series, and my only complaint is when the book is over. He has done an outstanding job of staying consistent with the quality of his writing throughout this series where it truly does feel as if I am reading the same book. Everything is as exciting and well written in book 8 and 9 for that matter, as it is in the first book.
Outstanding series!

Best Sleeve on Market
2 of 2 found this helpful Been using KMC Hyper Matte sleeves (almost exclusively black) for about half a year now. Very well made, as of yet I have never had one split on me. They fit well and snug, the double sleeve with the perfect fits beautifully. You can literally submerge a card that has been double sleeved with KMC and the Perfect Fit Sleeves in water and your cardboard is totally protected. Tolarian Academy on YouTube actually did a video illustrating this (I personally have not attempted ).
The main selling point for me is the matte backings in comparison to the slick or smooth backs. I dislike how slippery the non matte backs are and feel it makes it more difficult to shuffle and even simply handle my cads. The matte backs give just enough texture to make handling and shuffling my cards more convenient, without them always feeling like they are about to slip out of my hand.
Only reason I do not give 5 stars is because they are pricey typically costing $10.00 give or take a buck per 80 sleeves.
Bothers me for 2 reasons:
1. For years sleeves came 100 to a pack, and it still annoys me for the manufacturers who made the move to changing their count to 80. KMC is not alone - almost everyone else does it also, despite the "penny" sleeves (which also doesn't cost about a penny per sleeve anymore! ) remaining at 100 count.
2. I know there is nothing inexpensive any more - no matter what your talking about. Everything is expensive. And KMC I feel is a very good quality product, and if I have to pay, I want to pay for quality. Also KMC pricing is in line with what most other premium sleeves cost - so this is somewhat a general complaint for all the sleeve products at this price point - but for crying out loud $10 for 80 sleeves is ridiculous.
Perhaps I am old school and stubborn to changing times - but all of these accessories, just like the game - has gotten so much more expensive over the years.
That said KMC is the only brand I buy and I have no issue recommending KMC Hyper Mat to anyone else.
