Great little box.
All the reviews I read said this is a good piece of kit and they were not wrong. It’s easy to set up and once running seems stable.
The on board applications are fine, I’m still experimenting.
The slight negatives are the RAM cannot be expanded so you’ll never know if adding extra memory would speed up the device. Secondly the documentation does leave a little to be desired, more information around permissions would be helpful.
I’ve used FTP to make large file transfers which is easier than say Finder or Explorer. On the point of Mac compatibility it’s fine, all protocols are supported.
It seems to struggle a little with external devices, for example USB drives, several times these seem to have caused the system to freeze but without any data loss.
Overall, a great little box for a small home or office network where secure, RAID compliant storage is needed
