A worthy addition to anyone's bookshelf!
A wonderful book, giving a detailed look into Hokusai's work. The large format allows the reader to see the fine detail of the art, something that would be lost with a smaller volume. The supporting text is thoughtfully written and helpful in understanding the history of Hokusai's creative output.

No compromises, worth the cost.
2 of 2 found this helpful Upgraded from a 5D2 and don't regret it for a second. This body will help you bring your 'A' game every time you fire the shutter. Autofocus is outstanding, especially with moving subjects, high burst rate helps precisely capture action, and the low-light performance is stellar with a film-like grain at high ISOs instead of the noticeably noisy, linear banding the 5D2 produced. In short, not just for sports or wildlife photography, but for any and all shooting where you don't want to compromise anything to get the shot.

Wonderful paintings, recommend the larger sized edition
Like many titles from Taschen, there are multiple editions of this title available. I highly recommend the larger (12.5 x 10 inch) version. The art really comes to life and you get a true sense of the finer details like brush strokes on the canvas that a smaller reproduction just can't deliver. And seeing the details makes the reader very aware of the genius of Renoir and the beauty in his work.
