It could well have been titled, "Eleanor Powell Does Hawaii"
Perfectly restored to crisp, new-picture perfection. Eleanor Powell at the height of her talent, all of the cast young and full of personality. Literally a masterpiece of restoration. You can't help but love Eleanor Powell for her athletic dancing mastery, she is simply effortless (and joyful), "at full gallop". This is the picture I first "discovered" her in, back in 1984 (and two years after her death, on a sad, poignant note).

Eleanor Powell makes all other dancers look like has-beens.
1 of 1 found this helpful I am an Eleanor Powell fan, and frankly, this movie, that puts her together with Fred Astaire, falls short of thoroughly entertaining, for me. It puts the spotlight on Astaire and George Murphy too much, which just gets in the way of Powell's more deserving talent. I gave the movie 4 stars, only because of her, not them. Nevertheless, it does contain legendary performances by her, ably enough assisted by them. Fred keeps up, that's about all.
In short, Eleanor Powell makes all other dancers look like has-beens. Uh-oh!
The product itself is top quality, a fully restored classic movie.
