It's a Free World
Ken Loach tackles the issues of globalization, legal and illegal immigration, and the rising corruption coming in the wake. Excellent performances, especially by Wareing. Frequently, we in the USA only consider the issue of illegal migrant workers as our own problem, and illegal immigration as basically a problem with Latin American, mainly Mexican and Central American, workers. Loach's British take on this is an eye opener, because most of the exploited workers are white Europeans recruited to work in Great Britain. Worth seeing.

Dr. Suess always wrote with adults in mind.
Dr. Suess always wrote and drew with adults in mind, and frequently as a sharp social critic. Although his whimsical humor shines through in all of his work, sometimes a darker vision of our world frames his art. He was always consistent both in his published, mostly children's books, and also in this private collection published by his widow.
