This is a great lens highly recommended
This is an easy to use cost effective lens which for its cost produces good quality pictures, it is light solution as you may only need carry one lens. Combine it with a 1.4x or 2x and a cropped sensor and you have an effective solution for event the most nervous of animals or birds. I take it when doing landscape as well as it is useful to pick distant features out. The sigma range does have one known niggle - these lenses can give error messages - they are not made by canon and I assume that it is a slight mismatch, removal of the lens 9with or without a clean on the contacts) usually does the job - while it is a foible i have only ever seen it when mounting the lens not once it is mounted and working - so a little time and care is needed when mounting to get it working straight away.
