Awesome Sharpening Stone!
This is my first whetstone so my experience is lacking with them. All I know is when I sharpen things on this stone, I get basically what appears to be a mirror finish. The edge of my chisels and planes are VERY sharp now. Granted, they are still junk chisels. But for that first few times using them, they are pretty darn sharp during that time. I now find myself looking for things to sharpen around the house :)
I will next look at going higher than 6000 to see what the hubbub is all about. If you are on the fence (woodworking pun intended) do yourself the honor and get one of these and use it according to the instructions. Mine came all in tact and had wasn't cracked or anything.
