5 Vintage GE 1N91 Black Top Hat Diodes

Quick shipment, real NOS part

As mentioned, quick shipment! Thanks! These are a perfect drop-in replacement for the 1N91 Germanium diode used in a Weston 981 tube checker. Replaced the old part and worked perfectly! Also like the retro GE Semiconductor box they came in -- they are also in great shape. Despite the age of these parts, they are in excellent condition with no tarnished or kinked lead wires, and passed diode tests with a low .5v Ge forward V drop. I'll keep the remaining 4 spares for future projects, and buy them again if I ever need more.

Excellent NOS tubes

There is no substitute for the original 60s/70s RCA tall-bottle 6L6GCs with black plates. I've put about 40+ hours of break-in on these with an Elekit 8200 stereo amp running in ultralinear mode. Excellent close sound stage (not hugely airy) with excellent stereo separation. Very good tone quality across the board and good controlled bass without boom. The midrange on these is very clear and crisp without brittleness or sibilance. Male and female vocals are very clean with no breakup. The high end is excellent and sizzly without distortion or harshness. These are very easy to listen to without being bright, boomy, or "dark". I now understand the black-plate RCA mystique. The tubes I received also have nice clear markings on them and the boxes are in excellent condition. Overall, a great set of RCA tubes that I'm happy to have in my collection!
