Fascinating and accurate depiction of the lives of Civilians during the Second World War.
This is an unusual book about the lives of civilians living within Britain during the Second World, and relies on the first-hand accounts of those who experienced it. It takes us from just before the war, then through the war, and deals with it from a great many aspects - digging for victory, air raid shelters, ration books, munition workers cardboard wedding cakes, saucepans into spitfires. It is a well-produced and fascinating social history of the period and deals , in a light style, with what it felt like to live through this period. My parents were alive at that time and what is written hits the right note.

Honest description of undiagnosed bi-polar.
Nicola Pagett was a prominent actress and then started to behave oddly for others (normally for her). She had undiagnosed bi-polar. Here she describes in detail what she felt like at the time, and what happens. It is strangely gripping. She had no idea she was bi-polar. This reveals what it felt like.

Captures some of the spirit of a memorable day.
I was at this concert, which lasted an entire day. This dvd is a rather poorly edited version of some of the concert. It pauses quite often, which is a bit annoying. The dvd also features some brief interviews with some of the performers. Chuck Berry enjoyed giving this performance and many believe it was the best show he ever gave. It was incredible. It was the best concert I have ever attended. The dvd captures some of the spirit of a memorable day.
