High Quality
I have Lexar in all my camera bodies and have found them excellent. With each card you get a code to free recovery software in the unlikely event of the card failing.

Great Value Lens
6 of 6 found this helpful For the money this is a great lens, make sure you buy the correct one for your camera, there are 2 versions available one with a motor in the lens and one without. The Nikon D5000 and other Nikon cameras require the motorised version as they do not have auto focus motors in the camera body. If you need to motorized lens ensure it is the HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), it also says 'Build In Motor Drive' 'For Nikon AF D' on the box end. Ensure you know before you buy. The APO version of this lens is far superior to the non APO lens and can be identified by the small red ring at the front of the lens.
The macro is sharp and a useful addition, a word of caution is that the macro switch can appear to be stuck on. If you read the instructions and forum posts you will find it is a simple job to resolve by changing your camera settings. Remember the macro is an addition and the lens in NOT a macro lens so if that is what you are looking for then maybe look elsewhere. Ok it’s not the best 70-300 on the market but to outperform this you will need to spend far more cash. Certainly it is one of the top entry level 70-300mm lenses. There is a slight softening of quality past 200mm but the lens will still give pleasing results.
I bought the Sigma 70-300mm lens for myself and was so pleased I purchased one for my girlfriend as well. She is a graphic designer who has an eye for fine detail and was amazed at the performance of the lens.

Truly Superb.
4 of 4 found this helpful I have previously owned the Nikon D5000 and was impressed by that for the 2 years I used it.
Having now owned the Nikon D7000 for just over a month I can honestly say that it is superb, I upgraded to the 7000 as I now use it in a semi professional capacity and as such I need a camera that will perform well in all types of situations.
Whilst I am predominantly a landscape photographer I also shoot general images for companies and individuals and the quality that the D7000 gives me is exactly what to expect from a high end DSLR. The sensor is the latest one available and the camera is packed fully of features. The image quality is superb even when I heavily crop images they are sharp and well defined.
The camera came with the "kit" lens 18-105 and I have found this to be a very good lens providing good flexibility and with little fall off in image quality at the upper end unlike many zoom lenses.
The camera has a magnesium alloy body and whilst a little heavy compared to the D5000 all the controls are well placed and easy to operate. It feels very comfortable and solid during handling.
I cannot review the video capabilities of this camera as I have no intention of using it as it was purchased as and used for digital still images.
