Great Movies Is A Valuable Resource For Movie Lovers
This is the second volume in an excellent series of first class reviews. It contains essays about 100 films written in an accessible style of populist appreciation.
Roger Ebert wrote with enthusiasm, and with deeply thoughtful and humane insights. He was the opposite of an academic snob, and he loved a terrific variety of films.
This is a great book to read with pleasure. Highly recommended.

The writer Stephen Silverman focuses on production stories and biographical detail rather than over indulgent critical analysis.
This volume is lavishly illustrated with sumptuous photographs displaying the pictorial elegance of David Lean's films. This biography benefits hugely from first hand interviews and contains a brief introduction from Katharine Hepburn.
