Great camera

I bought this camera for its video features, but I shoot a lot of stills also. Video features are great compared to Canon cameras in the same price range. Image quality, features and design of the camera is also very good. Focus peaking is extremely useful, especially as I was used to shoot with manual focus a lot. Custom buttons are great and I got used to menu after 3 days of use. RAW files are heavy, but good for post production. Only negativity is battery life (get more than 4 batteries or some external battery solution), another thing is expensive lenses (remember you are buying camera system, not body itself), but I hope Sigma will start with manufacture full frame lenses same as they do for Canon or Nikon within the year (my dream). I didn`t have overheating issues so far, but I didn`t record over 20 minutes so far. Besides that, I recommend this camera to everybody who takes their photography or cinematography seriously and want an overall capable camera.

Okay kit lens for Sony system

The lens is build from hard plastic parts, feels okay if you keep in mind it`s price. Lens is not the sharpest and I will definitely move to more advanced lenses later, but it does the job. Focus is slow and sometimes doesn`t hit the target. For video it is hardly to use. Continues focus is just terrible with this and Sony A7r II. Manual focus works fine and I am used to that.

Fotodiox, not really "smart"

Mainly bought to adapt Sigma Canon mount lenses to Sony A7r II. Fotodiox servers now only as adapter, but I wouldn`t call it a smart adapter. AF is not available on non of 3 lenses I tried to an adapt: Canon 50mm, Zoom 135mm and Sigma 18-35mm. Not even in great studio light conditions. I am keeping it only because I am used to work with AF, but I wouldn`t buy it again.
