Highs and extreme lows of a great British star
Jack Hawkins was a major star in British films. Not a handsome idol, but a reliable, mainstay of characters in important films. As an actor, his throat cancer must have been worse than devastating and he pulls no punches about his treatment and how he coped with the thought of being out of work. An addendum is written by his widow who gives more information on how she looked after him till the end. From a child actor to stardom, not forgetting the importance of family life, this is a lovely book.

A handsome book about a handsome and talented entertainer.
I've read every book on Ivor Novello and learned something new each time.
This book is amazing with a huge selection of photographs never been published before. Sandy Wilson was obviously a great fan and has written a wonderful book for everyone who has admired and appreciated the great Ivor Novello.
