I couldn't get money back from EBay as it timed out, I felt he tricked eg that I didn't need to return the item but when I didn't return it I couldn't get my money back. Shame really as I would have spent a lot more with him for the sake of a few quid he has lost hundreds in the long run.

Real Hotpoint part
The filter came in a bag with Hotpoint documentation. So cheap and great replacement

Can't tell if it helped
We had an issue with a rat getting in through loose air bricks and getting into the walls. I placed one in my living room near the window and one in my kitchen the other side of the house. I have not heard any shuffling in the walls since these have been plugged in but we still hear it in the loft so can't really tell if these made a difference or not.
I have 2 dogs and they are not bothered by these at all. The only issue I have is the red led is very bright so I could not have any in my bedroom as it lights up the room.
