Despite all the hype it's not a very quiet fan. On the slowest setting it's not unpleasant, but a bigger fan turning slower would be quieter and push the same amount of air. The build quality looks good but the power knob is fiddly and awkward to reach, particularly from the front where you're likely to be. Not a great design. Overall I'm satisfied but probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Clever stuff works without any hassle
I've been really impressed with these. We have bought a transmitter receiver pair and an additiona pair of receivers connected to a 5 port gigabit switch to create a 1 in 3 out distributed system with 3 additional screens roughly 20, 30 and 40m away from the original source (not a domestic application!). The switch is not connected to anything else - no DHCP server (the transmitter and receivers use preset static IP addresses). There was no configuration needed. It was just plugged in with no particular attention paid to what was powered first, and it just did its stuff and worked and the picture appeared, looking clean and stable on all the other displays (as of course it should). I may be wrong, but I don't think you could do that with HDbaseT using a simple switch as a splitter. The units run cool and have useful indicator lights to say when they're connecting. If the transmitter has no power or the HDMI is not connected to the transmitter, the receiver displays a message on the connected screen which tells you what the issue is. Nice.
