A Classic
1 of 1 found this helpful Had this back in the day and loved it. Had a hankering for the original and wanted to share it with my kids after playing the Dreamcast version of the sequel (Plasma Sword). Not sure where my original went, but the price was right and you can't beat the value just in hearing the announcer saying "Staaar Glad-ee-A-tor" at the start up! Seriously, though, the game play is just fun. The newer sequel doesn't have the Ring Out function, by the way (you can push the other guy out of the ring/off the platform and it counts as a win in this game). For an old PS1 game, the graphics are pretty ridiculously good. The characters are bizarre and original. Neat atmosphere--very sci fi. Some say it's too easy for a fighting game, but there are a lot of moves to master and, while it is not hard to "beat" the story mode, it's still fun to play against a human and try to pull off the crazy moves. A classic.
