Alternative Notebook Adapter
The centre pin had broken in the original power supply plug so I bought this one. I could see it didn't replicate the original but when I got it I was happy with it. It was made for a video camera as far as I could tell from the instructions. The power output ratings were exactly the same as the one I already had. It only had a two pin input mains lead which was much lighter than the original and therefore easier to transport with the notebook. It worked fine and had been cheap enough for me to include when I auctioned my notebook.

Not ideal for 'Windows Hello' in Windows 10
1 of 2 found this helpful This device is well made and robust. It is very sturdy and I don't think it has a fault. Windows 10 recognises it and installs drivers OK. Unfortunately it only registers my fingerprint 50% of the time.
As soon as my finger rests on it, it fires away and takes multiple reads of my fingerprint. Windows doesn't seem to like this because it soon tells me I have exceeded the max number of attempts to logon and requires me to use my PIN instead.
I have a laptop with a fingerprint reader which works well. I have to run my finger over it and so I am in control of how many attempts to read my finger take place. That works every time. I am sure that I will eventually give up with the SecuGen and get the type of reader over which I can run my finger.
When recording a fingerprint initially Windows requires the user to make several attempts. With the SecuGen it is very difficult to be in control of that process. It took me a long time (since there are no instructions anywhere) to realise that the number of recording attempts was memorised by the darkening of individual fingerprint swirls within a picture that Windows shows of a fingerprint during the recording process. That is the way you know if your recording attempt has been accepted. So eventually I learnt how to record fingerprints at least.
Because it fails so often I cannot be sure that I am placing my finger correctly on the SecuGen each time.
If it worked well the SecuGen would be good value for money but as it is I think I have wasted my money.

Good basic Graphic Card suitable for a 4k and an HD monitor to be used together.
I bought a refurbished Standard Height Nvidia Quadro P400 graphics/video card with 2GB of memory for a Windows 10 PC. The PC into which the P400 is fitted is an HP Z620 Workstation.
Its purpose was to drive a DELL 4k 32" 3840 x 2160 px monitor and a DELL HD 24" 1920 x 1200 px monitor. It has 3 x mini Display Ports of which two are used by me. One feeds directly into the 32" monitor Display Port and another feeds into a converter with a DVI, HDMI and VGA port. The DVI port feeds the 24" monitor. It works very well with Windows 10 using the appropriate Nvidia Graphics Driver v441.28.
Windows 10 automatically keeps desktop icons and app windows the same physical size on both monitors. You see them get converted to different pixel sizes as they are moved by the mouse from one screen to the other. This is a very good practical function.
The card only consumes 30W which is much less than the 120W consumed by my previous Nvidia GTS240 Graphics Card used with a 24" and a 20" monitor. So when plugged into the card slot it doesn't require extra power from a separate power supply feed.
The P400 is often sold as a Low profile PCIe card. Indeed I ordered one and then realised my mistake. Fortunately the seller very kindly changed my order and provided a Standard Height version for the same price.
