Superb mechanism.
Superb mechanism.
At first I tried an Amtech set of punches that you hit with a hammer, but they did not work at all. So, I took a chance on this and was surprised at how good it was. It cuts clean holes through Four layers of upholstery fabric.
The design is excellent, it works with a smooth action and is easy to use. I've punched out about a hundred holes in multiple layers of fabric and it's still going strong. It probably won't need sharpening for quite some time, and when it does, it has a sharpener included. I use a piece of corrugated cardboard under the material, otherwise the punches cut into the metal stop, it's that sharp and powerful.
This useful tool is solid and dependable. I hope they bring one out with a set of larger holes. I have one with larger size punches but it's hard to use because it doesn't have the superb inbuilt leverage mechanism that this one has. It works perfectly with surprisingly little effort.
