"Receiver of the Year" - Forty years later!
Top of the line receiver in it's day that still holds it's own against the best. The smooth, airy sound of the sound of this receiver rivals tube amplifiers and the special features provide a flexible foundation for a dedicated music listening system. The pulse power supply operates at a very high frequency that eliminates the 60hz hum of other standard transformer power supplies, while providing plenty of reserve power and reducing the weight, making this unit 4lbs. less than the lower power, less featured STR-V45. The vertical FET power output transistors provide enough clean power to drive most speakers and the pre out jacks on the rear panel allow the addition of an external amplifier for even more power while using the main in jacks to drive the internal power amp for multiple speakers or a bi-amp speaker application. The unit features both moving magnet and moving coil phono preamps to allow the use of either phono cartridge type. The FM tuner section has high sensitivity and a very wide soundstage which provide some of the best stereo separation and imaging for great FM listening. Had it not been for the birth of my first child in 1980, I would have purchased this receiver new!

Light it up with a vintage vibe!
Perfect size and brightness. Matches most vintage audio applications; not too bright or dim. Leads are the right length for most applications and can be easily trimmed. Great for small powered toys, also.
