Sin City
Brilliant film. Similar comic book/noir drama as The Crow with violent and dark outlook. Not to everyone's taste.

Tarantino's Reservoir Dog's
I remember seeing this movie at the Odeon, Leicester Square on a preview showing in a small screen room with about 20 seats. Wow. This film was so new in it's approach and totally unapologetic. Tarantino's violent film with it's famous torture scene and various stand-off scenes is well documented, and he has sinced used the formula to good effect in other movies, but the great thing about this movie is the dialogue and the way it too exposes little bits of American culture for the audience, albeit often from a very male perspective.You want to bond with the main players in this film, but Tarantino doesn't want you to sympathise with them. No, you're just tagging along for the ride and a very entertaining ride it is too. I had to watch it again to delight in all the quips, one liners and intoxicatingly macabre scenes. Truly original in concept and done on a b movie budget, great actors, directing and script means this is unmissable.
