The most modern mobile I could find that still takes standard SIM cards.
1 of 1 found this helpful £32 for an unlocked phone that runs Android 4.1.2 (It came with Android 2; I had to do the upgrade, which was easy) with a standard SIM card can't be bad. Battery life fine, a day or two between charges which is about par for the course. For a ten-year-old phone, it punches well above its weight.
Excellent camera - if slightly sluggish (only slightly), very acceptable sound recorder, I use the All Reader app for PDFs and eBooks. Games? No thanks, don't care. Google apps? No thanks, but you can't delete them without crippling the other web functionality. The music player is a bit fiddly, and it won't play some video formats, but I think this is more due to proprietary lock downs than any fault with the OS design.
In-phone storage is very limited (1 G b), but a large micro-SD card and you're away. Seamlessly smooth USB integration with Windows, too. Google maps and G Mail work fine on WiFi and Talk Talk.
The screen seems to attract a lot of finger grease deposits, and the shiny bezel on this particular item is worn. For £32 inc. postage and a bit of foo ter ing about with Odin. ex e I'm not complaining one bit. Who needs the future?

Nice design, not built to last though.
1 of 1 found this helpful I've owned three (don't laugh) of these over the past five years (one bought off eBay as a spare, one bought for £5 at a boot sale!). NB I use mine up to five times a day. The first one started squealing inside and not producing foam after three years daily use, the second died with a bang yesterday after two years - it may have got water inside. I'd probably buy another if I needed to because it's a budget, no-nonsense, decent cappuccino maker with a lot of flexibility on how you have your espresso. Some nice design touches too, like the six functions from three buttons, and the easily-removed milk tank. It takes up about as much space as, say, less than half a microwave. The milk froth isn't the hottest or frothiest but it varies by machine.
The one thing I would strongly advise is that you rinse the top of the milk tank after every use under a hot tap. The cleaning function isn't adequate to remove dried-on milk from the foam tube, which is the first thing that will stop working properly if neglected. Milk residue will also quickly build up inside the tank connections but as long as you're careful you'll get as much use as I have.
Of the three I've owned, I've noticed a wide variation in the tightness of the seals and the quality and temperature of froth, though that might be due to two being secondhand.
£150-ish is the most I'd pay for a new one, any more and you'd want to look at something more substantially made.

Exceeded expectations
A kind of electric Moka espresso maker - the best part is the generously-sized coffee basket which means you can make rocket fuel if you want. The water reservoir is small, which means you can't make a 4-cup jug of coffee and steam much milk afterwards but I use a separate milk frother anyway.
Off to coffee takes about 3 minutes, and (steamer apart) it's very quiet.
I was using a Beem automatic machine (second to pack up in 3 years, daily use) so I have to remember to turn it off!
Bought in a hurry (due to the Beem failing), but very happy with it.
