Easy to use (and yes the springs are supposed to be strong!)
Suspect Gwyn hasn't grasped how these work. The spring needs to be strong to hold the number plate and you aren't supposed to be able to pull the springs apart by hand. You attach the clips to your trailer (screw or pop rivet) with sprung bit at bottom. Using the number plate you place it in the 2 slots and easily push down on the top of the number plate (much more leverage) which expands the clips and allows you to slot the top of the plate in the top of the clips and then release the plate. The clips then hold it tight in position no matter how bouncy your trailer gets. These are brilliant to allow me to share a trailer with my brother and other people without having to resort to gaffa tape/cable ties.
