Good value for occasional use
1 of 1 found this helpful We bought this for my father (age 85) who is no longer as mobile as he once was. Intended for occasional use ie. hospital trips. shopping, days out. We chose this wheelchair as it is one of the few we could find with large rear wheels (for extra comfort and manoeuvrability) and attendant operated brakes on the handlebars. Overall the wheelchair is suitable for our needs and good value at the price paid. Some features do not appear as robust as we would have hoped, for example the plastic rim on the wheels for self propulsion (although this will rarely be used), the basic operation of the brakes ( a metal bar clamping against the tread of the wheels) and the lack of a rubber pedal on the tipper bar (for the attendant to tip the chair to go over small steps). It may not be so suitable for someone requiring more regular/daily use. The chair folds and unfolds easily. Service from the seller was excellent with the chair being delivered very quickly.
