Start making nice portaits
Within a few days I was taking some nice portraits of myself and friends, with my DSLR, tripod and speed lite. The kit helps you to soften the light from the speed lite for producing better photos.

Lots of uses and no cable needed.
I got a separate controller and the wireless control works well. I watched multiple videos so I could hit the ground running on Christmas Day. We took some great family photos when we open presents. I practiced with a controller, with an on-camera flash bracket and with the flash on a stand. I also practiced with a better beamer. I had to hold the head to exactly point it. The flash works well in all options. It opens up a whole world of possibilities for indoor, macro, low light outside, and HSS shooting.

Stand works well for a table top
You can put this behind your computer monitor and camera combo to light yourself for teleconferencing. To soften the light put a foam core poster behind the ring, with the ring turned away from you. I used it to brighten a dark corner of a basement for teleconferencing.
