Just started, good so far
I bought these grains after being disappointed by some grains off Amazon, they were making it too fizzy and not very thick. I have only just finished doing the 2x 48hr starter ferments to build up the strength of the grains, I tasted the second batch after 36hrs and it was thick and although sour not fizzy.
Now starting my first 24hr proper batch. I noticed the grains are smaller and not quite cauliflower looking yet, some stay at the bottom of the jar rather than float up but I expect the grains will grow. I give the jar some shakes every so often and it seems to work well.
I use a lakeland fermentation jar if anyone wants to know, it seems to work well. Also I have only used semi skimmed regular cheap milk so far so it may be even better with whole milk.
