Simply the Best!

Fitted a manual crank-up satellite dish to our van 6 years ago and while better than faffing around with portable dishes it was still be a pain at times. Old TV a cheapo 12v Matsui, separate Freesat box. Decided enough was enough and the kids inheritance can go hang! Bought this brilliant combination and could not be happier. Easy to fit, no need for a sat-box and the Snipe found Astra 2 in moments, even in a notoriously difficult location (our garden, with a 15' hedge and 20 trees over 60' high!). What helps is the ability of the unit to adjust the planar tilt and carry out minute adjustments with precision - no more standing half in the wardrobe trying to twiddle a crank handle, seeing the signal strength lines go to max then frustratingly disappear. The TV is just superb, picture, functions, everything. Thanks to Avtex for your products and Red Apple Digital for a great price and service!

Best on the market?
Bought this to replace a fairly expensive bracket (of another make) that had not performed well. The Avtex bracket seems much better engineered and sturdy; looks not to need the same repeated readjustment to sloppy joints that flawed it's predecessor. It's ingenious design has a simple and apparently robust locking pin which keeps your tv safely held against the motorhome/caravan wall, though being of necessity located behind the tv it can be a tad fiddly to operate. I'm not quite so impressed with the VESA mounting plate and the "quick release" system (the latter relies on two tiny plastic - yes plastic! - grub screws, one either side) and even if tightened up the tv (which in our case is another Avtex product) is inclined to swivel round when the vehicle is moving. Hence four stars not five, but I'd still recommend this product as being probably the best available product of its type. A bit expensive but you do get the quality that you've paid for, as with Avtex TVs.
