Steam Locomotives of British Railways-H.C. Casserley

Excellent hardback reference book, well worth a second-hand punt.
An excellent hardback reference book giving separately a description/ details and black and white photograph of every class taken over by BR at nationalisation, first published in 1961 as 4 separate hardback parts, one each for London & North Eastern, Great Western, Southern and London Midland & Scottish. It was reprinted as one book in 1963 and again in 1965 at 21/- (£1.05), the two issues I have, each containing substantially different photographs. To this day I regret not buying the 4 part edition at a model railway exhibition back in the 1970s.
Unleashed Life Phorn Collection Dog Bowl, Medium, Green

Super deluxe dog bowl with arty aspirations
After looking at what was available in stainless steel dog bowls, I settled on this as the best available to my taste and bought three of them, which just happened to be the last three in my favourite of all available colours and at a reduced price; one for water, one for meals and one for chews, dog biscuits and other edible odds and ends. The bowls came extremely well-packed in a dedicated package box within a delivery box. It has a heavy base, which I at first thought was cast iron, but on closer inspection appears to be, as stated, made of resin, so needs hand-washing. As such, it would probably be too heavy for the very aged or those with severe arthritis in the fingers (though it could be wiped clean whilst still on the floor by those agile enough). It comes with a drop-in/lift-out stainless steel bowl. The whole thing is made in China and it's of very good quality, though the bowl is very light, being made of thin-gauge metal. Though the dog can still push the unit about if he wants to, he can't do so easily and can't carry it around like his old, usual style dishes. As a result, our dog has taken to tapping it with his foot or nosing it when he wants his meal. I wouldn't recommend putting the stainless steel bowl in the dishwasher either, unless you don't mind fine scratches building up from the abrasive washing process (as happens with lots of highly polished stainless steel surfaces - I don't put my Onepot slow cooker dish in it for the same reason - apart from pewter tankards I like my shiny things to stay shiny). Though somewhat overpriced at its full recommended retail price, and ludicrous at this price (£60) I would recommend it if you want the best for your pet and something that looks very good on the kitchen floor. Four years down the road and my 3 of these are still looking good and giving sterling service in the kitchen. I paid £12.29 each for them but see that they're now going for £60 on Ebay and a similar price including postage on Amazon.com. Absolutely ludicrous!
