The dark art of sensor cleaning
I was a little cautious of cleaning the sensor on my Nikon D800, a valuable DSLR.
After a little research on youtube, I realised that this was something that I could do.
There are loads of videos to watch that fully explain the process, so I bought this kit and had a go.
Two drops of ROR on the end of the swab, wipe one way and then back the other way.
Took a test image, and all of the specks of dust are gone.
Perfect, sigh of relief it worked.
I would advise anyone else to spend a couple of hours online looking at the method before having a go, but don't forget at the end of the day you are only cleaning a piece of glass.
I did look on the ROR website, and they did not recommend using to "clean sensors", but this is probably just litigation avoidance in their case.
If you look who uses ROR then you will see it is well respected in the optics industry.
Good product I would say.
