Fantastic Debut Album
Released originally in 1980 this was a refreshing debut at the tail end of the Punk era. What sets this band apart though is the Dub/Dancy feel they fused with an agressive Punk sound. Apart from P.I.L. (and perhaps one or two others) they used synths combined with energetic drums and bass and Geordies distinctive guitar filling in the spaces. This release pioneered most of their favourite classics still very popular with audiences today such as "Requiem" and "Wardance" both released as singles. Other highlights here include "The Wait" and "Complications". The Remastered version of this album doesn't differ a great deal as expected although contains a few extra tracks. The Punk/Funk "Change" is a welcome listen with its driving drum/bass which makes you want to get up and dance. The other bonus tracks appear to be a waste of time with very little difference between the final versions "Bloodsport" and "Primitive". This album would have had more appeal perhaps if it were to include earlier tracks such as "Are you receiving" and "Turn to Red" from the 1979 "Nervous System E.P." Other than that, a great album that stands the test of time and still sounds as good today as it ever has. A must-have in your CD collection!

Killing Joke - Outside The Gate (Re-mastered CD 2008)
I have been a fan of this band for nearly 20 years and have owned this particular album since its original release in 1987. As most people will admit this isn't perhaps one of their masterpieces and during the turn of events around this point of their career it appears very obvious that this recording was more of a Jaz Coleman solo effort than a Killing Joke album. Don't get me wrong, there are some great tracks here such as the single "Love of this Land". A fine example of Killing Joke at probably their mellowest and Jaz really has a fine singing voice. The downside to this album is more that Geordie's unique trademark guitar sound has been pushed to the back of the mix and gives way to the keyboards, thus proving this isn't your typical Killing Joke sound they have been renowned for. Musically the arrangements are very typical of Jaz's Classical leanings and overall show a depth of musicianship far removed from their previous recordings. The main bonus in more ways than one of having the Remastered version of this album is the addition of several tracks, some of which were previously unavailable. The highlights include "May Day" a very different early incarnation of "Tiahuanaco". This track could serve as a great album track in it's own right as it is possibly better than the later version. "My Love of this Land" appears as a demo version and apart from the programed percussion, the album version is much improved. The instrumental version of "Unto the ends of the Earth" is a real find here. The arrangements stand out and draw you in with curiosity, as the album version gives way to the vocals on this track. This album is a must for the long-term Killing Joke fan due to the extra tracks included on here, and it's nice to hear new tracks other than the constant barrage of remixes that they explored in later years. At the time of it's release it was a decidedly disappointing follow-up to "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns" (personally my favourite), although hearing this has now rekindled my interest for this album purely for the additional seven tracks.

Great, reliable units which do the job perfectly.
Excellent! Easy to set up and pair the units together. Purchased to replace an older pair of TP Link units, one which had failed. Reliable products which I've been using for years. Unknown to me until recently that all TP Link units are backwards compatible which helped immensely.
