Great Value
Considering the complete lack of independent info/reviews on the Internet, I was more than a little concerned about the quality of this product when ordering . Was I going to receive a cheap plastic monocle that looked like it came from the toy aisle at Walmart?
When I inboxed the Vibr8 is was pleased/relieved that it was solid and had feel of a well made optical device. With battery installed, I found the operation quite easy to figure out. I didn’t really need to read the instructions provided, but they do supply helpful information about its use. It’s easy to aim and locks onto target quickly with a little “buzz” to notify the user that the target has been located. There is really no way for me to determine the accuracy of the slope calculation, but it does seem to function properly.
On the course I had to lower my rating from a resounding 5 to a 4 because the accuracy is a little suspect. It was never off by much, maybe a couple of yards. The distance to the flag was always measured slightly different than the distance to the flagstick. ?? For example I would measure 182 to the flag itself and 185 if I scoped just the stick. My friend’s Leupold measured 183 from the same spot to both flag and stick. The measurements also varied slightly each time the target was locked. The difference wasn’t enough to change the shot strategy, so it wasn’t a concern at all.
This is plenty accurate for even serious golfers, but be aware it doesn’t seem to be dead solid perfect. Maybe they should say “Accurate to within +/- 2yds”? It was well within that.
I’m totally happy with the purchase and I would recommend it to even my best friend.
