Easy to use, robust product
Short of going down the smart home product route, this is a helpful item for those of us with mobility problems. I have an electric lighter for my solid fuel fire which is plugged into a 4 gang trailing socket. this leads to two problems, it is only switched off by unplugging it and the trailing socket has very stiff sockets, so that removing any plug is requires manual dexterity and physical strength.
This plug solves these problems, it is easy to switch on and off and has an indicator light when switched on. Provided you are competent to change a 13 amp plug or have access to a qualified electrician it is perfectly simple to install and I believe it is well enough made to last for hundreds of on/off cycles and I thoroughly recommend it.

Entertaining social history of farming pre the 1950s
This video is entertaining and full of social history. The presenters have the knack of being engaging and simultaneously informative without being overly intrusive. I can recommend it to anyone who has an interest in the social side of late Victorian farming and farmers up to the Second World War.
