Great test kit
Tests waterness hardness by adding drops of the test solution to a 10ml sample until it changes colour. All you have to is count the drops and multiply by 20. Simples.

Poor quality centre punch
It blunted after just few uses. I don't think it had been properly annealed.

Excellent product
These are excellent filter pads for giving home made wine a real clear appearance.
As long as you follow the instructions and common sense: add finings beforehand to sediment any suspended material, rinse the filter with a couple of litres of water before use, don't let the inlet tube sit in the sediment (if you're going onto filter a second demi-john), don't raise the height of the demi-john while filtering (this raises the pressure on the filter pad and some of the fine particles may be forced through).Just make sure you're using a Harris filter kit too.
I've been using these filter pads for 2-3 years now with excellent results. My home made wine is as clear as any commercially produced wine.
