Just what my narrowboat needed

This product is very good value and for the price the build quality is quite acceptable. The remote key fobs seem particularly well thought out (with a sliding cover over the buttons) and look pretty robust. As I write this review I have only just installed the system so can't comment on how well things function in the long term. It might help if I detail the use to which it has been put. It has been installed on a steel narrowboat which is a potential target for burglars I suppose. I have installed it near the back of the boat and the PIR detectors have no trouble communicating with the base unit. As the unit's power requirement is 12v I dispensed with the adapter and wired it directly to the boat's battery bank (with an in-line fuse). So far I haven't used the door switches as they don't fit in well with the decor and are not really needed. I may fit one in the engine bay. I bought a smoke alarm which communicates with the base unit so, after some testing, I am content that I will be sent a text message if there is a fire, an intruder or the battery supply is cut off. I haven't connected the external siren as I don't want to disturb my boating neighbours but the internal siren is pretty loud. Bear in mind that you will need to pay for a sim card which needs to be keep in credit. I use one which costs 1p per text. The remote controls can activate/deactivate the alarm from outside the boat (through the steel shell) so this is very useful.

Good quality - wouldn't use anything else

There isn't a lot of choice for acoustic baritone guitar strings but there doesn't need to be - these are excellent quality, maintaining their tuning and tone over a considerable period of time.

Possibly OK?

Yes or No? The answers to the questions about quality and value should really be 'maybe'. It's not particularly good quality with a soldered wire becoming detached rather too easily and as for value that depends what you have to pay for it. It is certainly not worth some of the very high prices I've seen it advertised at. It's a fairly cheap motor on a base with a rubber band driving the turntable (a spare is provided). Were it to go wrong the motor could be very easily replaced for a better one. An OK product which I had to buy because there were no alternatives.
