Mind-blowingly enlightening

This book contains much about country sports of the British Isles, which I am sure is no longer in the public or even enthusiasts' consciouness. For example, the physical attributes and types of greyhound according to which part of the country they were bred and coursed. Hares too, according to habitat ! This book is going on holiday with me next month, for closer study. Also writing as "Stonehenge" Dr Walsh is one of the doyens of Coursing of all time. What a man! What knowledge! My thanks go to The History Press Ltd. & BOOKS etc and other booksellers for making this book widely available and at easily affordable cost. Well for me at any rate ! Thank you, I will be spreading the word to my coursing and shooting chums.

I expect the book to live up to its impressive title. I'm glad it's not a history, weighed down with footnotes and references.

I haven't read it page for page yet, but it looks every bit what I expected. I'm looking forward to a great read, even though I'm more a fan of Caesar's enemy, Cicero! I had seen that this book is recommended reading - by authors of novels about Ancient Rome.
