Good Solid Radio
The Roberts 93i radio is excellent in most aspects. The basic radio functions are very easy to use, and work well. However, the FM performance is not as good as some radios (used in our house and in the same location). This lack is mainly in the area of FM "gain" or "signal sensitivity". An example is Classic FM with its two frequencies around the 100 mHz mark: our elderly Sony radio receives this station well, but the Roberts struggles to pull it in.
I say that the Roberts is not particularly easy to use in some aspects, simply because setting up favourite or preset stations on Internet Radio, (though easier than its predesessor, the 83i) is still a bit fiddly. Having up to 40 presets though is a big improvement compared with the limited mere 5 presets of the 83i. Another improvement I suggest would be more buttons for the remote handset, to give access to the 40 presets directly (as you would on any TV set). As it is, you have to go to "Presets" then scroll up or down to get the one you want. The separately available external battery pack (£40 - £50) is certainly not cheap, but is a welcome addition; (it fits both models). The 93i is very well built, as is the 83i, with good sound for its size. Adjusting its tone settings would be easier if it were possible directly from the remote, or the front panel. Unfortunatey, you still have to access the various Audio settings via the menu, which is a bit of a pain! However, overall, once having got used to this radio, its performance and build are very good indeed.

Good, well made.
Very good, though very slightly larger than the original. A little tight on fitting into the walkie talkie.
