Excellent bit of kit

This type of peeler can't be bettered. I've tried every type on the market but always come back to these. It'll last three or four years before breaking, which at the price is unbeatable value. I bought three, good to have a spare!

So soft it straightened in use!

I needed a long drill bit to get through the final 20 mm of a 4 mm hole i was boring from both ends of a piece of hardwood (ash) on my lathe. I'd successfully drilled from both ends with one of my 100 mm long series drill bit without any issues, normal really, exactly what I'd expect. I then put one of these 300 mm drill bit into my battery drill to finish the bore but it straightened out. The metal is not hardened along the whole length of the flutes which means it is going to straighten when meeting any friction. In the end the tip was hard enough and I did manage to get the job done but had I not noticed the drill bit may well have sheared inside the piece of wood causing a considerable problem. This may have been a one off that missed the hardening process and I've not needed to use any other bits from the set. I got away with it in the end and managed to finish the job but the drill bit is not really fit for purpose.
