Vw vacuum pump rebuild
I have never tried to rebuild a vacuum pump before, I am fairly handy and not shy of trying. I recently purchased a 2007 Vw Beetle for my daughter and was shocked at the cost to replace such a simple item. After locating several options including replacing with a used piece, I decided to give this rebuild a shot. The car was in the garage for several minor repairs including the battery, to my surprise the simplicity of the repair made it well worth the investment, and it only required about 30 minutes time to complete. I would highly recommend the average to skilled person make this repair and save hundreds of dollars vs. paying a shop. I will continue to buy the rebuild kits from RKX whenever the need arises as I also like to buy and fix cars for fun.

Simple fix
Replacement of the drive gear was simple and took about 45 minutes to complete. The new gear arrived well packaged and was a perfect match to the original. I would recommend this repair to anyone with basic mechanical skills and a few hand tools. The cost of the repair saved me from the hassle and expense of replacing the entire garage door opener.
