A very good mid-priced digitiser
There are other, very much more expensive digitisers that are available on the market. However, for what I paid for this scanner I am more than pleased at the results obtained in scanning my old slides. As always on passing the digitised output through my usual photo software further brings the results truer to life.
There are a few minor niggles, for example the scanned files are given a digital time stamp when they are saved to the SD card. However, this is not the current date and time and there is no way of setting this on the scanner. Time zero appears to be that linked to that of the embedded operating system.
Overall, a very useful work horse that gives good results. If you need to keep digital memories of older media for occasional use and not wanting to get super large images then this is perfect. Should you want the very best that your slides are capable of and create large prints then you need to look for a professional grade scanner at considerably greater cost.
