Life long Shimano guy converted
3 of 3 found this helpful The Tatula SV TWS at $125 is the best value in a high performance fishing reel. Exceptionally long casting and very smooth. I know the SV spool is supposed to be good for lighter lures but I don’t throw much below 3/8oz on a baitcaster so I can’t comment on that aspect of the reel. I sold 1 metetanium and 3 older chronarchs and purchased 6 SV’s, about the best endorsement I can give. I’m sure they won’t have anywhere near the resale value %’s of high end Shimanos but who cares. Only thing that the reel doesn’t appear to enjoy is throwing 5 arm A-Rigs and up, you get some nasty sounds from the gears. If you’re moving up to your first high end reel, you’ll be estatic and if you’re moving down from higher end reels you’ll be amazed...I was

Phenomenal sub-$200 reel
I love the smoothness, exceptional casting control and whisper quiet operation of my new Curados. I will no longer spend the extra $$'s for Chronarch's or Metatanium's going forward. Yes those reels are nicer but it's the law of diminishing returns...are they "That" much nicer? not in my opinion. Can't wait for my new Curado K to be delivered, I've pre-ordered 6 of those based on my experience with the CU70HG. That's how much I believe in the Curado line of reels

Good enough to take the win
My partner and I fished a late fall northern Illinois team tourney and used KVD 200 & 300 Deep exclusively. Easily won by 3 1/2lbs. Water temps in the high 30’s, 35 air temp and gusts to 40mph. While everyone else was throwing jigs we were using jerks with a much faster than expected retrieve. No discernible pause. With sharpened factory hooks we never lost a fish. 5 fish totaled 16.07. Not to shabby under the conditions
