too quiet
This pedal ultimately reduced the level of my bass going into the amp. There wasn't enough makeup gain to reach unity with the unprocessed signal; this was true for any combination of settings on the knobs. I sent the first one back because I figured it had to be defective, but the one I got as a replacement was exactly the same. A compressor should be designed to meet or exceed the volume of the unprocessed signal, and I'm not sure why the Bass Preacher can't do this.

pretty but stinky
The art on the cards is great. I love the borderless design and they look cool when fanned. I'm not crazy about the feel when handling them. And they smelled horrendously toxic out of the box. There was so much off-gassing that I didn't want to be in the same room with them for a couple days after opening the pack. I've never had that happen with a deck of cards before.
